Predicting the future by examining what industrialists did in the past is useless. Using that argument, nothing different would ever have been worth doing. iPhone? Nah, the industry would have done it. It's not profitable or practical. Nothing was ever done until somebody imagined it and did it, and nothing was ever profitable or practical until they showed that it was.

When you mentioned 200 miles, that showed you didn't understand what I wrote.

When you think in terms of dirty great gantries costing a fortune and moving hundreds of kilograms of battery, it shows you have the wrong idea. I drove fork lift trucks moving big heavy things. It didn't take quarter of an hour to move something 10 metres even if it weighed 500 kg or a ton. One minute was heaps of time. That was in the old days when things were totally manual, with no such thing as robots.
