This idea that our Western civilization somehow derives itself entirely from this religion is the usual nonsense that unlike science that takes in such a wider view, religion narrows it down to terms of its own wishful embellishments. The truth is that right after the fall of Constantinople to the Turks, much of the classical wisdom, building techniques, science enquiry & philosophy, including the framework of Justinian Roman law code are rediscovered, explored & employed with a passion. This is when the scholars from that city bring with them the preserved works of the classics that managed to survive in the east, when fleeing to the western centers, Rome.
You can sit here till blue in the face with some dummy like brumar with his serious delusions that everything good about our western culture is derived from Judeo Christianity is a fairytale view of reality. The major bulk of our civilization & Western culture is derived from the earlier Empire's law codes & civil structure,sciences & architecture, rode building & infrastructure, art,philosophy, forms of governing & representation, due process, trade & exchange policies to democracy. All these were well developed in Rome & Greece and with the fall of Constantinople all that legacy of classical literature of philosophy & sciences were saved, wove their way in the most passionate ways to shape our future & intellects once again.
