Paul, Your suggestion of sending JPEG files from coast to coast using the DWM modems is an excellent one. Perhaps an animated sequence from the Disney epic "FANTASIA" would be an appropriate choice for the test. Surely you are joking when you suggest that the people at IAS purchase a copy of "Understanding Telephone Electronics"! This text was no doubt written by a "traditionalist" schooled in the Jurassic thinking of most pagan engineers -- an author who clutters the pages with graphs and mathematical formulae which no doubt detract from the real study of communications as performed by real purist inventors.
