SMILE. my oh my, and it takes a T.B.I to catch them meddling with numbers. Me tinks they need to add an asterik noting what one is looking at has been ADJUSTED.

I found this statement of interest:

"Splits, distributions and dividends are "artificial" changes in the price of a ticker symbol that create gaps on technical charts causing misleading signals from technical indicators. To eliminate those gaps, we decrease our historical prices (and increase our historical volume data) in a way that removes these misleading signals."

Hmmm eliminate GAPS. If you read me often enough you will observe I mention gaps..up and down. Specifically re GE I have pointed out the one at 29.16. The day after the no TARP vote. So I guess if we remove it then it never existed. Nor the volume that went along with it on that day.

Does it matter. YOU bet it does.

UNDERSTANDING those gaps, why they occurred and where allows one to understand the activity at the time.

Stock charts just got caught playing with data.

MY MY.
