Remember that you lived in the company of some of the greatest benefactors of our race merely by dignifying reason as a way of steering through the world. And also...no regrets. Remember that your "hard life" was quite probably easier than 99.9 % of humans who have ever lived. If I had been born to the worse parents in the worse hovel in Canada I would still be ahead of most. And I think of all the people I have been privileged to meet in real life, in the pages of books, and now in new and incredible technologies. No. We always think how unfair life is. Why? Because it is unfair--damn unfair. But it is least unfair to those of us who understand how fortunate we have been...
