Indeed I do know that. But in many ways criminalizing drugs is the great unequalizer. I would like to see all drugs decriminalized. Because when drugs are criminalized, minorities suffer more than anyone else, and the poor suffer more than anyone else. If you are interested in "redirection" than maybe you should look at redirecting prison money, and redirecting the lives of people who are incarcerated for foolish "crimes".

If you are interested in "equalizing" things- the military often represents a terrific opportunity for young men and women of color, and for other people who may not have families who can "equalize" their lives in any other way.

1/3 of the military's spending is on salaries. And the military educates people- something you "claim" to value - and you even admit that it does educate people (and promotes minorities). Salaries and health care:

Another large chunk of the budget goes for bases- where the men and women in uniform live.

So maybe you can clearly explain to me why you are a one trick pony on an issue you don't seem to be evaluating consistently. And don't get me wrong- I don't think there's no waste in the military. But it seems to be a bugaboo for you beyond all rationality (along with the ACA). You don't seem to be able to see other glaring problems.
