That is extremely cold hearted and not very tolerant at all, especially of other religions. Not that I'm a religious proponent or have any religious axe to grind - I don't.

But I do have a Conscience. I view conscience as the call of care. "It" calls against my expectations and even against my will. On the other hand, the call does not come from someone else who is with me in the world. The call of conscience comes from me and yet from over and beyond me.

I wouldn't read too much into that. When I hear the voice of conscience, it's not something I use as a starting point for explaining the existence of an alien power by which I am dominated. As a transcendental being, I must insist that the call comes both from me and beyond me.

PS There are some very good and beautiful religious people out there once you look past the moral majority or born again Bushie types.
