As I started into Vivian Maier's portfolio Street One I jotted down a photo name/number so I could point it out to you as one I liked. Then I jotted down another. Then another. And another.

I can't put my finger on what it is that I like about her work except to say it's very clean and open. It's very clear what she's photographing. There's no monkey business to it. (Is that an often used critical photography term - "monkey business?" I didn't think so.) I guess in my simpleton photographic eye her work speaks to me, as they say.

So thanks for the heads up. I'm going to find someone to enjoy the rest of the portfolios with. It's more fun to share than stare. Good stuff. Maybe I'll get lucky and find the documentary made about her. Sounds like a great story.
