Most Americans (including progressive liberals) don't like Obamacare. The premiums are very high, and out of pocket expenses (deductibles) are outrageous. That plan was a complete sell out to the health insurance industry.
It's a function (the premium) of age and income. If one qualifies for a subsidy premiums can be reasonable. Older people get a break on price too compared to what the market was before the AFCA.
