<<Well dum dum, Phillip E Johnson or anyone else has to allow for that possibility, universe is 16bil yrs old... our planet's only 4.5B, that leaves 11Bil years to have seen the emrgence of intelligent life forms 4-5B yrs earlier than us. Even some aliens that were at our stage 1Bil years ago is an awesome thought...

Until they land in the city Rose Garden, or sign their names in little atoms, we'll just have to muggle along with natural science.>>

Yes, exactly. It is only logical intelligence is pervasive throughout the universe. We see how fast we have evolved once we got going. That has surly happened millions of times in the universe. So what did they evolve into? How do they live? What are their pleasures?

Now Imagine intelligence trillions of times greater than ours! Trillions and trillions of times great than ours.

Now imagine they would take us seriously. Maybe the ones they know can see beyond the illusion.

And quantum physics/computers tells us that is possible.

And anything a trillion times more intelligent might be impossible for us to communicate with or sense; but it surly pervades the universe.

Alfred North whitehead said he felt consciousness is a third system in the universe. I read that when I was 26 and immediately felt. Of course.

People who cling to their primitive myths are only to be pitied as they have one life to examine and they completely blew it, and made it inconsequential, as they comfortably lived in a total fantasy world.

Chipmunks and cats do that too.
