Thomas,
Nothing has come back to me regarding bankruptcy counsel. If I hear anything I will post it immediately.
In 1984 I filed a class action lawsuit against numerous tax shelter promoters, their accountants (one of the big eight at the time), Viron corporation, Fluor Corp. and others. The tax shelter was OEC an energy tax shelter that sold solar-powered energy conservation systems for businesses and office buildings. Bottom line? My case in Michigan was consolidated with all other cases and tried in New York. The equipment sold by the shelter (through limited partnerships) didn't exist. Yes, a few systems existed. Those that did were sold multiple times to different investors. Remember this, large CPA firm, Fluor corp. Viron Corp. and other high-priced professionals all vouched for, rendered accounting projections, valuations and lent credibility to these promoters - some of whom ultimately ended up in Federal prison. I have seen this scenario repeated over and over and over.
My mistake was getting involved with a company (OXHP) managed by young promoters. Furthermore, I don't accept the earlier post's implication that thirty somethings, because they are filled with energy, desire etc. and had built this company (OXHP), are therefore not to be overly criticized. I will accept that, being young, they were energetic and hungry. By the same token, this is a crisis situation. In a crisis I want a seasoned warrior leading the troops. I don't need Wiggins cutting his crisis management teeth on my money! |
