Game 2 and Rapid Play-offs

ÿÿÿ Day two of the FIDE World Championships saw another day of fighting chess, with 14 of the 34 matches being decided by rapid chess tiebreaks. Two of these 14 pairs found themselves still playing

ÿÿÿ All four Americans found themselves in tie-breakers but only Yasser Seirawan progressed to the next round, with his beautiful positional effort in the first rapid game against Armenian Ashot Anastasian a particular highlight.
