Yup. And yes, it would be perhaps the best app for a smartwatch, as the reliance on voice makes the tiny screen less relevant.
By access to deeper level data, I'm talking about more than just appointments. Apple has user data on that and many other basics, but for those of us who permit Google to track everything (GPS, purchase behavior, emails, etc.), they can push information like never before. If my typical Wednesday pattern is to check a couple stock prices, drive my car to a trail for a run, and then stop for a bite to eat on my way home, Google Now sees all of this and tells me my ETA for each stop, traffic conditions, the stock prices, what the specials are at the places I frequent, and which packages I've ordered will be on my doorstep when I get home... all without needing to ask. Apple can do some, but not all, of that.
My 8 year old was asking a lot of questions last night, so I gave him my phone and said, "here, try this". He was able to get solid answers to about 3 out of 4 questions, with ease, all by voice. When he was done, I suggested asking it "What does the fox say", and it even got that right! |
