First, thank you for the weekly posts. Here, they're all spec ops, some cryptographic specialists, a marine master sergeant who was NCO of the year for an entire division. Truly that's a senseless loss of our very best.

But I'd disagree about the military command being the real issue. People said the same thing about Viet Nam, we were fighting with one hand tied behind our backs. I'd fault the civilian government that we're there at all, fighting another Hamburger Hill. Nothing to be gained. What possible moral imperative could justify the cost. It didn't work out too well for the British or the Soviets in Afganistan either.
