I spoke with a very religious older lady today I ran into at the store. I have seldom seen such a closed mind. I spoke gently with her for quite a while as I was interested in her. She approved of science but not the facts. Kindness and education only had relevance in relation to Jesus. Thought all kids should be home schooled. Did not approve of pre school, or public schools. Her ignorance and closed mindedness was breath taking. She was spectacularly out of touch with reality (but very lucid and sane) in a 16th century fundamentalist witch burning state of mind. I think she had been completely brain washed at an early stage. It actually shocked me she was so committed to her dogmatic world. She said she would pray for me. I parted with a smile. Still on my mind.
