Remember - the share buyback is just replacing cash with stock. The boost in EPS comes at the expense of the cash (for each share you own, you now have less cash but more earnings). So what really matters in terms of the buyback is where the share price goes relative to the price it was purchased for. So far, it was a good move, as it's up slightly. But if it drops a bit more, then it actually exacerbates the downside.

Barring a last minute drop, looks like AAPL avoided 520 today.
