2/21/14 Contest update
Investors seeking glory in biotech stocks superbly slalomed through another Olympic week. The Contest median closed Friday with an awe-inspiring 26.11% YTD gain (vs. up 18.97% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Biotech Index closed up 18.54% YTD (vs. up 13.63% YTD a week ago). In comparison, the Nasdaq Composite Index only managed to close up 2.08% YTD (vs. up 1.10% YTD a week ago).
Beautifully executing a double signature Shkreli, JB118’s portfolio held on to the Contest Gold with a breathtaking 73.31% gain for the year. GUERL’s portfolio, also exhibiting fine Shkreli form, took the Silver with a stunning 71.85% YTD gain, while BIOINV’s portfolio, up 65.46% YTD, snagged the Bronze with a formidable ACAD assist.
At Friday's close, all 46 Contest portfolios remained in the black and 37 of the 46 are now beating the NBI.
