The cost of living has nothing to do with political ideology. The cost of living is directly tied to socio economic factors which in turn is tied to economic opportunities. The blue states have major economic opportunities, the centers of technology, commerce and biotechnology being the major opportunities. These are the wealth builders. And after the folks create this wealth, supply and demand kicks in and prices go up. These centers of wealth are those who acquired them through enlightenment that comes with education, being well informed etc. And as part of that enlightenment, their political ideologies are shaped. John, I have read your posts and what I gather after reading them is that you are an extremely smart person with well formed and well balanced opinions. I am hoping your point is not that the cost of living index is tied to people's political ideologies.
