I've been investigating the "dark web" for several months now. It's an internet you can't reach through Internet Explorer, Firefox or Chrome. To get there, you have to use the Tor browser, which you can download. Once you get that up and running (somewhat tricky), you're still not there, you have to follow trails of breadcrumbs to find places to go. Eventually, you'll find what's there.
What's there are libraries of fulltext of books, music and software, forums on everything, Markets where you can buy any illegal drug, substance (including poisons) or gun, markets where you can buy counterfeit money, stolen credit card numbers and credit cards, fake identities, fake citizenships, hire hit men, hire people to protect you from cyber-attack, hire people to cyber-attack others and just about any good or service you could imagine and many you never have imagined. Some of these are no doubt law enforcement stings.
I haven't bought anything yet, just browsed. To buy, you have to be able to make arrangement to pay, but these places don't accept credit cards. You have to use bitcoins, some other method, or barter. I haven't gone the next step, which would be buying some bitcoins.
