I think the days of crazy hype for any one phone model are past us. It's not the hype that makes the phone - it's the phone's capabilities and values. The best information I've seen indicates that the S5 and iPhone 6 are likely to stack up in a similar fashion to the way the two products did in 2012... the Samsung coming out earlier, priced a bit lower, but having a slight edge in specs nonetheless. And we know what happened to AAPL after the impact of that became known. The big question this time around is will consumers care nearly as much about *any* flagship phone as they have in the past. I foresee many more yawns than big lines of campers.

The one exception might be this, if it actually gets released. Sounds like it will have potential to shock and awe, at least for a little while.
