Feb 13, 2014 - NR
Azimut Exploration (AZM-V) and Everton Resources Inc.'s joint venture partner Hecla Quebec Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Hecla Mining Company, will start a five-hole diamond drilling program totalling 1,200 metres on the Opinaca A property, adjacent to Goldcorp's Eleonore gold mine in James Bay region of Quebec (see maps on the company's website). The drilling program will test the Smiley target where a major gold anomaly in glacial sediments (till), associated with a gold-arsenic anomaly in soil, has been outlined by previous surveys. Located eight kilometres northeast of the Eleonore mine, this one-kilometre-long target is associated with an east-west-trending deformation corridor at the intersection with other subsidiary structures.
In 2014, Hecla intends to spend $350,000 on the Opinaca A and B properties, including $205,000 for this drilling program. Hecla has the option to earn up to a 60-per-cent interest in the properties from Azimut and Everton Resources Inc., each company currently owning a 50-per-cent interest in the properties.
