No.

I tried running for school board, and decided I like teaching a heck of a lot better than I enjoy telling people what to do (which might sound like a joke- but I run a fairly collaborative classroom, where I value student and parent input). And that, imo, is the main problem. Left and right, the people who often go in to politics, at any level, are people who have very little clue about the real world, and who aren't very in touch with what makes good law. I would argue that at least the democrats are in touch with what century we're in- which is why I vote democratic, but as far as anyone, on either side, being brilliantly forward thinking, pragmatic and effective, those folks are few and far between.
