I want a player/recorder too. I came close to buying a DVD player this Christmas, but I will wait. I wouldn't record much off the air, but I would transfer home videos to DVD disc. There also would be cool possibility for downloading non realtime video from satellite, cable, or the internet onto the disc and then playing it back in realtime. You can't do that with analog video! good luck c-ya at the beer bash with FredE!
