yes what you wrote was very true, there where worse atrocities committed by Ukrainian Nationalists (for which SI would not be the medium to discuss such horrors) than the Germans, it is a long and convoluted story related to the times that Polish Nobility owned wast farms in what is now Western Ukraine and up to Kiev, and used the Jewish population as "HofJuden" en.wikipedia.org or en.wikipedia.org a practice that was prevalent also in Germania and Austria as the local Jews where forbidden to own land but because they knew to read write and accounting they got those privileges.

For the local farmers or farm-workers the oppressor was not the Barron, Count or Nobleman in Poland Lithuania Austria or Germany but the local guy in charge to collect the taxes and satisfy the never-ending appetite for opulence of his master - or he would be sanctioned and deported to other lands.

The animosity toward the Soviet Russian was a direct result of forcible collectivization and purposely induced famine by Stalin with the use of Russian Jews who had a choice being deported to gulags with certain death or redeem themselves implementing the communist party wishes. Horror stories about about what happened and hidden by the Russians abound and hard to believe. For Stalin it was a perfect solution with one action he killed the Ukrainians and shortly thereafter the Jews.

One thing is important to remember human capacity to commit atrocities as revenge when under pressure are worst than those of any meat eating predator, as the evil satisfaction of revenge under the "Lucifer effect" overtakes any reason
