Then ask yourself just how many scientists & academics are out there that really give a care to whether there is a God or heaven or not? Their lives are already so construed & dedicated with understanding the world systems analysis, designing & testing new theories, creating new materials now down to nano structures that make the future possible.
They are working with the elements which are eternal, or viewing the heavens which are eternal and give a perspective that already encompasses the eternal space & time we find ourselves in the midst of now. The problem with your "God" now is, he's just too puny, some of us dream bigger, give more, want more than just comfortable nonsense.
Any man being true to his or herself will learn the lessons of life, your sitting around every sunday wishing yourselves into some imaginary after-place is just so productive? No, its really really not productive, not in the sense of real life and so we see not much coming from your quarters but eternal whining.
Maybe this Sunday, go out & really do something with your life, take the whole congregation with you, go on a field trip to the natural history museum perhaps...
