Come on, you know better. The network in a box (at nc.oracle.com includes a server (hardware), server software, etc.

If you buy a PC from Dell to add to your corporate network do you add a portion of the cost of all of the network resources to the $2K (or whatever) you pay for the PC and say that the PC costs $10K? Nobody ever claimed that $500 was the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for an NC.

The $500 figure is the target price for a node, no infrastructure, just a node. Then again, you already know that...
