We know, for example, that some less fortunate people and fuckoffs are getting value because taxpayers are picking up their tabs for them.

OTOH, there are plenty of less fortunate people who are worse off because they were doing fine without insurance before and now they are being dragged kicking and screaming into a system they really want no part of. We know, for example, that 2/3 of those buying insurance today are paying MORE, while 1/3 are paying less, which flies directly in the face of Krugman's statements. And we know that the entire process is more bureaucratic than ever, and the quality of care is dropping like a rock. What we don't know yet is how badly innovation will suffer or what the real cost of insurance will be after the subsidies to insurance companies are sunset.

We do not yet know how many lives will be lost due to this failed liberal experiment, other than to say "a lot".
