There was a device in that location that had a yellow alert on it. I tried to update the driver, but that failed. Then I removed it as you suggest. I'll reboot and see what happens.

I paid for an AVG Tuneup program and ran that yesterday, along with AVG and malwarebytes. My system is now so slow that when I try to download something I can't see that it's happening and I down load it twice, which makes it even worse.

If I can't lick this thing, I'm going to replace this computer. I'm really getting sick of it wasting my time.

I think I mentioned that I might get a tablet and use that exclusively for internet, while keeping this desktop dedicated to MS Office programs. Do you think that's a good idea? I might just disable the internet connection so I'll have it if I need it.

Thank you very much for all your help. If you find one of those virus writers, please shoot him for me.
