Samsung’s half-assed implementation is such crap that nobody will use it anyway.
There are some really cool uses for it, particularly stemming from the fact it's open to developers. I have some programmers working on an implementation related to video content rights (planning stages only, for now).

You asked earlier why Apple got a lot of heat for the fingerprint scanner and potential security issues, while Samsung hasn't. That's a good question. I think it's a function of people being weary of anything new. When Motorola put the first fingerprint scanner on a phone (the Atrix), it took a lot of heat for privacy/security issues as well. It didn't get covered much in the press because the Atrix isn't a wildly popular phone, while the iPhone is.
