Most, including myself, were completely unaware of Motorola's foray into fingerprint sensors. The "Man bites dog!" news phenomena is entirely based on jading of mass appeal. With no mass awareness, there is no mass interest to become jaded.
… And relative to sophistication, Samsung's version is actually more advanced, as it is open to developers. … I don't equate the open to developers attribute to an increase in sophistication, nor should you. While it may be more helpful to a business person to develop software with utilization of fingerprint recognition, the openness is just a door, or hook into the sensors function. Apple wouldn't have to come out with a new model phone in order to implement developer accessibility. They would simply add the calls necessary to read the boolean pass/fail output of the reader to their kit supplied to developers.
I think we're more likely to see voice matching biometrics applied to identification long before heart signatures. |
