... About the throughput: in your example, it will still be 80 wafers per hour, because the first machine does not stay idle while the wafers are processed by the second machine ... Not so, Yakov. In the cited example we have two steppers each printing 50% features at 80/hr for a total 160 wafers in one hour with 50% features printed on them. This equates to 80/hr/stepper of 50% printed wafers and to 40/hr/stepper of 100% printed wafers. Trust ME :-). Your other points are well taken and agreeable :-). The potential lack of financing could really affect sales of capital equipment as it (apparently) has in the case of Samsung. If steppers get pushed out so will Cymer's lasers. The last we heard from Cymer is that they saw no order pushout, and that if they did get any delay of orders Cymer would be obliged to announce taht fact immediately. No such announcement has occurred to my knowledge. Tulvio
