Gosh, sure hope I meet up with somebody from here one of these years. The trip was fantastic as always. I must've been Dutch in a former life because I just can't get enough of this place. I guess I can understand most people not wanting to go in the dead of winter but it sure does have its advantages. Cheaper off season airfares and hotel rates (though not a concern if you stay with a friend like I do) and the ability to move about freely. I don't much like crowds and summer time just seems to be a seething mass of humanity that you have to fight your way thru to get anywhere and fight your way into a standing room only position on the trams and then wait to get into wherever you're going. Don't mind putting up with chilly temperatures to avoid all that. It actually warmed up a bit and was 45-50 and almost no rain the last couple of weeks I was there. I'm back in hot and steamy Panama where I promptly got sick from the horrible 15 hour transit time and 40 degree difference. Maybe someone will be around next year... Oh, the Rijksmuseum remodeling has finally been completed after 10+ years. Kinda cruddy cell cam pics in the subdued light with flash not allowed.
