My granddaughter's school in Mooresville, NC was visited by Obama last year, because of their advanced computer program. Based on her experience it seems to be working well. She's now an 8th grader, has had MacBooks since 5th grade. The MacBooks are strictly limited in how they can be used, but she does take hers home and does most of her homework on it. Anyway she's on track for the GT program, studying at roughly 11th grade level now. Of course she's a very bright young lady. All of this according to her Grandpa =Me. nytimes.com tech.fortune.cnn.com Needless to say the program has its controversies, as one would expect with innovation, but I am impressed so far.
