I can't remember the story. I say, sheepishly. (Embarrassing, isn't it?.) I remember a little motorcycle and a key that was or wasn't broken off in the ignition. No one seemed to be able to tell. I remember that was fortunate, too; because even tho we were out in the middle of nowhere, at some point the goal had been to ride it.

The story was always told by the sufferer, Jerry, with religious propriety. We thought he had a future (in public speaking).

The things we did seem literally impossible now.
