he's barking up the wrong tree. Low wage earners want to make a decent living [without having to rely on charity]. They don't want to storm the castle - yet.
According to data from the General Social Survey, the percentage of Americans who feel strongly that “government ought to reduce the income differences between the rich and the poor” is at its highest since the 1970s
that's the wrong question. The poor need higher incomes regardless of what happens to the income of the rich.
