Your experience with throughput is very different from mine. As I am typing this, I am watching the TWA 800 hearings on the CNN site with full-motion video (slightly jerky) and full audio (no breaks at all) all via my Ricochet SE! When I upload or download files via FTP, I get anywhere from 2.9 to 3.8 KBps - usually better than my 33.6 phone modem.

I understand that throughput depends on many factors including distance to transmitter, number of other users on that transmitter, and number of "hops" from that transmitter to a transmitter that is directly connected to the internet. I know that if you are experiencing poor throughput and you complain to MCOM, they will send someone out to check out the transmitters in your area and possibly add another one to help.
