Of course, but no one had the vision Reagan had that the CW could be ENDED by doing what he did. SDI was crucial; you can't possibly be claiming that was someone else's idea.

As to failed weapons systems, there is a very protracted and expensive history of it. But none of it amounts to anything when you consider the savings from not having to deal with the CW.

And the promise of SDI, while late, is being fulfilled today. The idea of a missile shield is not pie in the sky, it is, at least to some extent, a reality today -- and a reality that gives any opposing power pause. And it has bought an astonishing amount of time for us as a nation.

SDI and its contribution to ending the Cold War were inspired thinking, and 100% Reagan.

The bottom line is that the Cold War ended because of a confluence events that were ALL dreamed up and implemented by Reagan. So, if you want to credit someone else that's fine but it is totally out of partisanship and not based in reality.

>> The Right's Reagan worship is almost funny.

I cannot speak for the Right as I am not a member. But I do believe Reagan was easily the best president of my lifetime and yours and no one else even comes close, in retrospect.
