Bill,

"Hambrecht's current stock price values the firm at about $900 million, down from the $1.1 billion, or $45 a share, it commanded Friday when Merrill was seen as close to clinching a deal with the investment banker."

I was just going through some news items, and I can't figure out why Merrill Lynch is even thinking about buying Hambrecht & Quist for $1B.

They could have 1/3 of YHOO for that paltry sum.

YHOO is worth 3X what a major technology investment bank is worth? NO WAY!
