Yes, nothing is quite as black and white as I painted it. Yes,
the overall market is growing. So actually what happens is that
everytime you go through a 'cycle', point 'A' starts HIGHER than
the last point 'A'. Looking like this:

ABCDEFGH <---- 1992 - 1994
ABCDEFGH <---- 1994 - 1996
ABCDEFGH <---- 1996 - 1997 (point G now?)
ABCDEFGH <---- 1998? starting at point A?
ABCDEFGH, etc..

So the cycles slowly move to the right. (in a commodity feeding a
growth industry model.)

CARS, OIL, GAS, etc. move to the right VERY, VERY slowly.. tech moves
much more quickly.
