Is it correct to conclude that these options were unregistered and could not have been sold on the market. Does THQI have traded options?

If he could only exercise the options, we should not draw too much of a conclusion as to the significance of selling the shares. What else could he do? If he had to exercise the options, then holding the stock would be equivalent almost to going out and adding to his holdings at these prices.

Of course the amount of cash (per share) he had to come up with was not that great. But maybe it is significant that he chose this route. How about the taxes? He has to pay taxes in 1997 on his profits. If he exercised the options and held the stock I assume he wouldn't have to pay any tax until he sold the stock. Is that correct? Then perhaps he ties up more cash exercising the option and selling the stock than by exercising the option and holding the stock.

Then again it might have been a time when he could do this without being overly criticized for selling when he knew something was wrong. He sells, the stock goes up, then everyone else is happy.

Then again he might have a lot of respect for WedBush. They said to sell didn't they?

I vote to draft Mr. Farrell unto the Wall of Worry Team. We need a wall to scale and we should accept help on this important task wherever we can find it. Its good to see SL back on board.
