I just watched Nebraska and liked it a lot. It was like a softer, more humorous version of The Last Picture Show with all the air let out of it and no skinny dipping Cybill Sheperd. It had the same desolate, empty black and white feel to it which really pushes every character's nuances to the foreground.

Perhaps it struck a chord for me, as I'm sure it did many, having recently dealt with the end of life stage of once vital and vibrant parents. The aging parents in the movie certainly were a hoot - at times a pathetic, sad hoot, but maybe that's how we go out here in the Midwest.

Sometimes I wake up and look just like Bruce Dern. Sigh. I hope I don't already have one foot in the movie and just don't know it.
