Bill,
That was a great article. It may not be entirely accurate but it is informative. A couple of points. Riven may outsell Bladerunner but my experience so far is that no store can keep copies of Bladerunner on the shelves for long. I may have to see why soon. Reviews on it are pretty good. Now, after reading this article, is it safe to say that Abe's Oddyssee may be a bust? The format is acceptable on a PSX but I have a feeling that the PC version will be shunned. It seems to have suddenly dropped out of sight on most charts after only a month and a half. You know, there is one thing that I am truly miffed about. Namely when you look at the GT lineup as a whole it's quite apparent that there is almost no representation from the strategy genre. This really bugs me. It seems like a precarious open end that could have been easily patched long ago. Am I missing something or is this all my imagination? I also don't know if GT could make much of a claim in the Adventure category either. I don't qualify SPS as adventure games. Bill, GT has claimed the #1 spot in game software but do you wonder how they will be able to hold on to it for long and don't you think from an overall perspective the company is rather weak in it's offerings? I suspect that Humongous may be very important as I can't think of anything coming up that will bolster the slippage that we will undoubtably feel soon from saturation of most possible TA and Abe sales. It's nice to have strong sales from Deerhunter but the fact is the money really rolls in on the premium title side.
