Kathleen, I guess there was a lot of the "show me"/denial factor w/ the equipment players and the KLIC news comes as the first (?) dose of some unpleasant reality.

IMHO, his problem, and he's not the only one, seems to be an inability to take what company management gives him and disagree.
And then on the flip-side you get a guy like Kurlak who just pulls the plug on the whole sector for 1-2 years (don't know if he covers Kent Electronics, but ML downed that today; probably not the best time in the world to be a distributor).
If Kurlak lasts until December 1998 without issuing a single upgrade, I'll show up on the ML trading floor, douse myself in gasoline, and he can light the match...okay, wait a second...what do I get out of that deal? On second thought cancel that offer...then again, if Tom Kurlak is so confident in his predictions how about making it reciprocal? <g>
