I don’t believe that the 10% rise means anything significant. It’s just noise and is probably associated with the overall stock market rise during the same period. There are just too many independent variables to usefully interpret this particular move.

The shorts seem to have deep pockets and real patience: over the last year the stock price has more than doubled, but the short interest has steadily increased by 160% and represents around a $580 million hedge against INVN.

On the plus side, the MEMS market will expand over the next decade and InvenSense will own a nice piece of a growing pie. We are still waiting to hear news regarding upcoming products from Apple which may contain sensors from InvenSense.

The Motely Fool bloggers write consistently strong assessments of the company and Topeka Capital Markets issued a $25 target for INVN this week.
