It was totally appropriate for our government to consider whatever action it felt was necessary to prevent such attacks in the future. Whether or not you agree with it or whether or not it worked, the Freedom Agenda was a reasonable response to 9/11. That the president who followed Bush was not up to capturing its essence is on Obama and those who elected him, not on Bush.
