It's hard to say without reading the complaints, but I like the software. I haven't used the Cloud versions yet. I use Numbers quite a bit. Lately, Pages not as much.

One problem I did have with Numbers. After the most recent upgrade, a couple of days ago in fact, I tried to open an old file I had created in 2011. I got a message saying that the file was too old to open. It suggested I open it with a specific version number. Presumably the suggested version was a previous version that was a later version than the one which had last saved the file, otherwise why bother. I was able to recover the file, however, by opening it in Preview, copying the spreadsheet contents, and pasting it in a table in the latest version of Numbers.

Not everyone knows to try that.
