Maurice, I didn't know Billy F's forum is still going on. Wasn't he going to shut it down due to lack of interest or agony of defeat or something along that line?

Doug and Clark, I really don't know how this Asian thing will play out and that is exactly my point. No one knows what the NEW WORLD ORDER, Part II, is going to look like.

Starting off with Korea, do you remember the movie the Ugly Americans with Marlon Brando. We still are the know-it-alls who like to tell the rest of the world how to live their lives. S Korea has been under our thumbs since the Korean war. Who is this IMF really? The country that forks out the most bucks. N Korea can be a time bomb. I hate to speculate what type of strings our government is pulling over there with the upcoming peace talks. Many "things" can go wrong over there.

China has over capacity problems everywhere. Internally, the three gorges project is a complete unknown not only on the engineering and ecological fronts but also the social economic impact to the millions of lives along the banks of the Yangtze. There are some miscellaneous websites, mainly by special interest groups who are against the project. Read them and you can get a sense, though biased, of what China faces.

I guess my point is that the world is at a major changing point. No one knows the answer to most of the macro questions. Now if we don't have the answer to the big questions, how do you suppose that we figure out how many cents this Korea thing is going to knock off the earnings of QCOM next quarter. I have a little model that I use to valuate the stocks that I am interested in. It is completely worthless at the moment because none of the earnings projections are reliable. I would hate to be an analyst today. How the hell are they going to come up with any meaningful numbers?

These are really exciting times because a few right moves could do wonders to a stock portfolio. I hope to be around a yr or so from now with a fatter wallet, rather than mumbling about all the "should haves" and "could haves".

Qualcomm (beginning to sound like a broken tape) is really in great shape. May be this round of SEA turmoil is a blessing in disguise, giving us a chance to accumulate more.
