In Archaeology there is a well known axiom. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. Israel was invaded and destroyed several times over. You are arguing from silence. You know that no one believed Nineveh existed except as a "myth" found only in the bible until Layard rediscovered it. Then the critics just pulled up the goalposts and moved them down the field.
