A video explaining the magnetosphere and how it protects our atmosphere and us from radiation. youtube.com Because mars has a solid core it creates no magnetic field to protect itself. Without either high gravity (mars is 1/3 earth) or a magnetosphere any atmosphere would be blow off the planet. Making the planets core molten and spinning is beyond us by any science fantasy.
