I've read the demographics were moving toward favoring the Dems but the projections were that turnout would still be the key. That takes me back to my question as to how the Sink campaign addressed it (and everything I've read to date suggests it was a well managed campaign) and why that was not enough.

The media tends to fasten on the personalities and media friendly stories like the ACA. And leave the turnout issues, very boring, out of the discussion. But in a tight race such as this one with changing demographics GOTV, as Sam puts it, is a very strong factor.
